THIS PROJECT FOCUSES ON DESIGNING THE CHAIR DREAMED BY THE CHEFS OF THE ELBULLI FOUNDATION, A COLLECTION THAT WORKS IN ANY GASTRONOMIC SPACE DUE TO ITS ERGONOMICS, STACKABILITY AND VERSATILITY AS WELL AS ITS ECONOMIC PARAMETERS, RESISTANCE AND LIGHTNESS.
THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE GASTRONOMIC FIELD AT THE ORIGIN OF THE ONDARRETA BRAND IN ADDITION TO THE RESEARCH AND DEPTH OF FERRAN ADRIÀ’S ANALYTICAL WORK, FACILITATING A NEW EXPLORATION WITH NEW MATERIALS AND TECHNOLOGIES ADAPTED TO THE CURRENT GASTRONOMIC RHYTHM AND HABITS.
FERRAN ADRIÀ HAD NOT FACED A FURNITURE DESIGN CHALLENGE FOR MORE THAN 20 YEARS. ‘NOW I HAVE MUCH MORE EXPERIENCE AND IT HAS BEEN EXCITING TO DO IT ACCOMPANIED BY THE ELBULLI FOUNDATION TEAM (LUIS GARCÍA, MARC CUSPINERA, ERNEST LAPORTE) AND TOGETHER WITH THE ONDARRETA FAMILY, WHOM WE HAVE KNOWN FOR MANY YEARS AND WITH WHOM WE ARE FRIENDS’.
